The Power of Plant-Based Nutrition for Health

 

This four class series does not include cooking demonstrations.

Nutrition Essentials—based on the Physicians Committee’s successful 21-Day Vegan Kickstart program —is about making a qualitative, as opposed to quantitative, shift in the way we eat. Class attendees will discover the guiding principle for weight loss and good health is not restricting the amount of food they eat, but rather choosing the right foods—fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes.

 

According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, “Appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases.”

Attendees may experience clinical benefits such as lower cholesterol, better diabetes control, and lower blood pressure, as well as improvements in energy and mood. Results are likely to be immediate and impressive!
